Lesser roads lead to more remote and dark areas for our ALUMNI-ONLY new destination workshop in Central Utah. This 3-day workshop is specifically designed to get away from the more popular tourist areas and to continue your education by expanding upon skills already covered in previous courses. This special workshop ventures into narrow slot canyons under a full moon. Austere patterns of radiance glows and refracts from a moonlit sky as it filters down into the depths of sandstone chambers. This rare alignment of light within these concealed sandstone corridors has never been offered in a night sky photography workshop so this will be the first of its kind. Moonlight seems to stray further from the genre but you will be amazed by how well it captures the story. The main narrows can be reached shortly from the trailhead, but don’t let the concealed entrance fool you. This thrilling adventure will challenge your resolve as you manuever through closed in walls and straddle rocks to navigate curved stone cavities. You will be expertly guided to remote locations by hiking 2-3 miles each night on semi-slippery surfaces with rocky terrain, mud hills, and in twisting ravines. Every bit as beautiful as the more famous Utah National Parks further south, each less-traveled location promises no urban light interruptions. This advanced course is uniquely tailored for those who have already taken a workshop with Goldpaint Photography.
