I travelled to Alaska in late October of 2022 with friends who wanted to see the aurora for the first time. We had all travelled together in March of the same year and despite several days of clear skies did not see it. On the evening of October 28th, we drove up the Denali Highway and stopped at a clearing with mountains on both sides of the road. The aurora was out and despite a temperature of 3 degrees above zero and strong winds, the entire group saw a really great display. I usually photograph the aurora alone but this trip with 5 good friends will remain in my memories along with the pictures that we all took.
