In a rare stroke of luck, my camera captured a massive meteor ‘Fireball’ entering our atmosphere from the Alpha Capricornids Meteor Shower.

I hiked into Deadfall Basin, near the base of Mount Eddy, in hopes of capturing meteors from the Taurid Meteor Shower.

The peak of the 2015 Perseid Meteor Shower occurred in the early morning hours of August 13th and it certainly did not disappoint.

The adventure continues as we leave the desert floors and head up to our beloved mountains in the Eastern Sierra’s. Our workshop took our students from dizzying star-filled nights among ancient Bristlecone’s in the high country to chiseled tufa’s in Mono Lake.  Lastly, read about how we survived Mutha Nature chasing us out of the wilderness!

What a year… So many great times to look back on and so many opportunities coming in 2013. I spent most of the summer months teaching workshops here in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, I had a few opportunities to get out on my own and wrap up my first time-lapse film, ‘Within Two Worlds’…

My pack is waaaayy too heavy!! I had every intention of trying to lose some pack weight, but somehow it seems just as heavy as when we left the Muir Trail Ranch last year. If you recall, this leg of the PCT was our longest between resupplies.
