This is my favorite image of 2022 for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the image was captured on the Snake River in southern Idaho, near my old stomping grounds as a kid. So, it has some nostalgic value. I love the way the Milky Way is juxtaposed with some low hanging clouds in a crisscross pattern, and several boulders in the foreground complete the composition. The night was absolutely beautiful, and I was the only person on the river. This photo will always remind me of that perfect night.
