I was in Tucson for 2 nights to shoot the Milky Way in Saguaro National Park. The forecast for the first night showed the possibility of the aurora in the area, so we changed shooting locations to allow us to have less light pollution in the photos. I love Saguaros and the northern lights and to have taken a photo with both delighted me!

During the Leonids this November, only 1 meteor was captured, but I was not skunked ! The air glow and green tint of the summer night sky in the Oregon desert makes for colorful images. This image even captured a small meteor. Looking forward to what 2026 will bring!

My one astro focused trip this year was to Bryce Canyon and the surrounding area in June. We managed to shoot for five nights and I got a number of decent images. This one of Swamp Canyon is my favorite because of the balance created between the tree and the Milky Way, the leading lines into the canyon and the air glow in the night sky.
