Brad and I found a spot briefly free of smoke from the multiple massive forest fires in all directions, including the remnants of the “Lava” fire on the northwest flank of Mount Shasta. The smoke, clouds, and Mt Shasta’s own mircoclimate combined to make for a very strange and beautiful sunset.
