All the skills from Brad’s workshops were used to plan and make this capture. Idaho was facing almost total overcast for the May Total Lunar Eclipse -TLE. While anywhere near Boise looked dismal, the far corner of Idaho, near the Tetons, looked to be the best opportunity. PlanIt Pro showed the partially eclipsed moon rising to the left of the Tetons! I settled on some sites 33 miles from the Tetons, with my 500mm lens. Certainly not the capturing we do in workshops, but the real value of the workshops is adapting what we learn to new circumstances! After a 5.5 hour drive, I was rewarded with a spectacular partially eclipsed moon rising to the left of the Tetons. It continued to rise settling in full eclipse directly over the Tetons. Post offered me a chance to composite various stages of the eclipse over the Tetons (I need a follow-up with Brad). Grateful to all the past 10 years with the Alum and Brad. Thank-you all!
