In June of 2025, my husband passed away from a long battle with several cardiovascular and autoimmune issues. Although it was expected, I knew I needed the solace of friends and the night sky after his passing. I traveled to my friend Sue’s house in Idaho in July. We camped at Stanley Lake several nights as I had always wanted to photograph the Milky Way in Idaho. This was the perfect location and we had great weather. It gave me great peace to be out there with my friend among the stars. When I look at this photo in years to come, it will remind me of that peace.

During the Leonids this November, only 1 meteor was captured, but I was not skunked ! The air glow and green tint of the summer night sky in the Oregon desert makes for colorful images. This image even captured a small meteor. Looking forward to what 2026 will bring!
