During the Leonids this November, only 1 meteor was captured, but I was not skunked ! The air glow and green tint of the summer night sky in the Oregon desert makes for colorful images. This image even captured a small meteor. Looking forward to what 2026 will bring!
Last Desert Sojourn
This was the last trip to dark skies of the Oregon desert for our slide in Palomino. The weight of the unit and cramped space has been replaced with a Project-M, We regain the use of the entire truck bed! The Palomino has been a great Dark Sky expedition camper, but we are looking forward to the possibilities of the P-M. 2025 brought too many clouded over trips, a lunar eclipse, many conjunctions and other celestial events, but many of those were captured under the light dome of our city. During the Leonids this November, only 1 meteor was captured, but I was not skunked ! The air glow and green tint of the summer night sky in the Oregon desert makes for colorful images. This image even captured a small meteor. Looking forward to what 2026 will bring!

I was in Grand Marais MN and the Aurora is always so 'intrusive" on the Milky Way. This time the colors just could not be ignored. Between the yellow of the light pollution and the green of the glow to the pink of the aurora this was truly a rainbow!
