This is my favorite image from 2016 because it has so many compelling elements, in my opinion. Also, I failed in my first attempt to visit this location a couple years ago, so I was excited to make it through the deep sand and experience the area. It was certainly worth the effort and requires future trips. The image is titled, “Swirls” because of the “ear shaped” rock formation in the foreground.
