This image was taken in Big Bend National Park on a Muench workshop. I took this workshop to learn a specific night image capture/processing technique taught by Wayne Suggs. I like this image for its low noise foreground (48 images blended), sharp stars (4 min tracked) and the preservation of color in the stars.

I was in Grand Marais MN and the Aurora is always so 'intrusive" on the Milky Way. This time the colors just could not be ignored. Between the yellow of the light pollution and the green of the glow to the pink of the aurora this was truly a rainbow!
