Within Two Worlds

Within Two Worlds from Goldpaint Photography.

Within Two Worlds depicts an alternate perspective by giving us the illusion of times movement, signifying a beginning and end within a world of constant contradiction. It appears you are traveling in the midst of a dream, half-sleeping, half-waking, and touching the arch connecting heaven and earth.”

I discovered my passion for photography shortly after my mother’s passing while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) 3 years ago. This time-lapse video is my visual representation of how the night sky and landscapes co-exist within a world of contradictions. I hope this connection between heaven and earth inspires you to discover and create your own opportunities, to reach your rightful place within two worlds.

  1. Not many stars in the city. Grew up in a urban environment where photography was the last thing on anyone mind. I love taking pictures, watching your videos inspired me. Bought a Nikon 3100, not a great camera but not a bad one either. Hopefully I will make good use and show you something special. Big Fan!!!

  2. Within Two Worlds

    We’re within two worlds;
one of light, the other of dark.
Inside the passing of our thoughts,
like the fleeting passage of a day phase,
the clarity in our eyes may shift
    to silhouette and shadow,
    and then back again
    at nights end.
The light in our eyes has no place for lesser splendor,
and the only shadow is the one we cast.
    We cast it away
    into the mysterious night
    where it follows us,
    and diminishes you and me.
Yet there are millions, billions, perhaps trillions of points
lighting the way out of the shadows of our mind-sets,
pleading with us to look up and away
from the hardness of the insipid ways we tread.
    The two worlds collide
in search of what to believe in,
and spin dizzily out of sight
where there is only one true light which is within two worlds,
    yours
    and revelation.

  3. This is very inspiring too. I am so honored to be here. My own writing developed after the death of my father. I found out that I was very lonely, and had no one to confide in. I then write and discovered the strangest feelings of loneliness that most writers find them selves into. It is a strange world and we need all artist together. This is a beautiful work.

  4. Wow! I don’t know what to say except you have a gift & I send much gratitude your way for sharing it with the world. Stunning time-lapse!!

  10. He counts the number of stars; He calls them all by name. Psalm 147:4

  14. Everyone who appreciates these beautiful star shots should contact your local, State, and Federal representatives to push for more efficient downward facing lighting in all communities both to not waste excess power to light up the skies, but mostly to preserve and return the night sky to our towns and cities for us and our children.
People feel an instinctive and almost spiritual connection to the stars and the night sky. If you live near even a small city, you could live your entire life and never see the Milky Way or more than a few dozen stars unless you venture far out into the countryside. We need that connection to the galaxy and universe. We’re part of it and it’s part of us.

  15. Excellent clairity with music perfectly matching the mood. Thanks for sharing. Its photographers like you who make us appriciate life through your eyes. Views upon we rarly have the oportunity to see the world.

  16. Congratulations on putting together such a superb video! I’ve been following your photography for some time and have to say that your night sky images are amazing!

  17. How very amazing! Life is a total mystery of great and profound beauty. That we are on a small planet traveling around our sun at over 66 thousand miles an hour, making one revolution in a year’s time. That our milky way galaxy may be over 10 thousand light years across. What is this? Where are we going? How did we get here? Questions that inhabit imagination beyond comprehension. Yet here we are alive and wondering.

  18. Wow, magnificense beyond words. As Nicky wrote, it takes one’s “breath away.” God’s creation is past finding out; yet, you found out a great deal; Colossians chapter 1 in the Bible.

I have visited a few of these areas that are a present from God; however, how inspiring to see them through your lingering lens. Who would have thought that “sky wonders” could encompass so much?

  19. Creation is beautiful and the way you showcase and present it just takes my breath away. Makes me realize how small we are on this little planet in this very very big universe. I absolutely love your work and thank you for allowing us to see it in a way I would never have been able to otherwise. What you do is amazing and I am in awe.
